Does this mean "F*ck love" ..and if so, WHY!?!?

I bought my girlfriend Sex and the City DVD for her b-day and it has CHINESE SUBTITLES!!! :clap

That is how I would say it, however, that may just be my American Chinese coming through. I'm sure there is another way to say it.

Isn't it more f*king love than f*k love - ie, you are annoyed and fed up with it, but not actually say you want it to go away.

At first I thought I didn't understand the English. I thought "(personally I don't mind swearing) love" was a term! (I'm kinda slow) You mean, "(but it does bother some people) love!" (verb-object)???

Why? Maybe I don't understand your question. I guess since 他媽的 is typically translated as "(so some well placed #$%#'s are useful)". :conf

Kind of weird since you didn't edit the Chinese swear in my or the original poster's post. Don't you think? I seriously want to understand how f*ck is somehow any different? I honestly don't understand. I read f8ck the same with or without a 'u'; everyone knows what it is. It's your board, of course.

39N's version sounds fun. Of course, had I ever seen this show even once, I might have a clue!

Oops! Just noticed it was Roddy who came up with that first.

personally i won't have thought 他媽的 = f*ck - maybe a little bit more than "damn", but definitely less than "f*ck"
