CinyHKI Posted April 1, 2010 at 10:28 PM Report Share Posted April 1, 2010 at 10:28 PM Hi everyone, I'd love to get some help translating a sentence! I have studied chinese for 1 year, so I don't trust my own skills yet. I want to paint a nice chinese saying or proverb to my wall. Something that looks nice and also reminds me everyday about its meaning. And as i see it everyday, i do not want any mistakes. Here's the options I have thought of: 1) Flowing past in an endless stream. 2) Be wise be happy 3) A day is eternity's seed 4) You're not a tree (from the saying "If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree." ) So, I need to get one of those in simplified characters. Im not asking to translate all of those, if you can write one, someone else may want to do an another... Thank you SO much if you can help me! -Ciny X

trien27 Posted April 4, 2010 at 04:11 PM Report Share Posted April 4, 2010 at 04:11 PM 囍禄福 囍 = "double happiness" [used for weddings: double happiness = passing the civil examinations of ancient China & getting married, but later the civil examinations were abolished, so now this is only used for weddings.] 禄 = salary; income 福 = luck; blessings, etc...
