carlo Posted January 21, 2005 at 03:14 AM Report Posted January 21, 2005 at 03:14 AM After years of telling myself I don't really need a pda, yesterday I bought a palm tungsten e (Chinese OS). Have been scouring the internet for a decent Chinese-Chinese dictionary for Palm. Haven't found anything earth-shattering, but kdic with two or three 字库 (现代汉语词典、高级汉语大词典、国际标准汉字大字典) are free and more or less do the job. These are not commercial products, so I'm expecting some missing entries and the occasional typo. Does anybody know of other products I should get? I wouldn't mind paying for a good monolingual dictionary, but for some reason there doesn't seem to be any. Quote
in_lab Posted January 21, 2005 at 04:47 AM Report Posted January 21, 2005 at 04:47 AM Do you have links for those? I would search for them, but I only have about 20 minutes to use this computer. Do you know the size (in words) of those dictionaries? 现代汉语词典、高级汉语大词典、国际标准汉字大字典 Also, does your OS allow pinyin input? Thanks. Quote
carlo Posted January 21, 2005 at 07:27 AM Report Posted January 21, 2005 at 07:27 AM Yes can do pinyin input as well as pen input. Can I post links here? Search for “kdic 现代汉语词典” on www.pdabase.com. The other two are only available on the message board at www.tompda.com, you have to register as a new user (for free), go to the Palm 软件 board, and search for these titles in the message archive. I see you're based in Taiwan. The dictionaries I've mentioned may or may not work in a 繁体字 environment, can't comment on that. Quote
in_lab Posted January 28, 2005 at 04:59 AM Report Posted January 28, 2005 at 04:59 AM I haven't been able to download the kdic 现代汉语词典 from pdabase.com. Was anyone else able to get it? If so, could you message me? Quote
