Helloo,

I am wondering who, if anyone here, studies Kung Fu and if you could tell me what school/discipline/type of Kung Fu you study and what your thoughts are on it. I used to study a Japanese Hybrid martial arts form - it included things from various other disciplines, called Gyakunamido, I am thinking about trying to find an instructor for Kung Fu, however, I am not sure what style would be best for my body type ect. So, I am looking for some insight into people's personal experiences with various styles and what body types they are suitable for.

Thanks!

side note: Anyone looking forward to Kung Fu Panda 2?

I used to do traditional shaolin gongfu but switched to contemporary about two years ago. I train mostly in Houston.

I started on casual Wing Chun a few months ago, but progress has been slow. Being taught by a old schoolmate who learnt Wing Chun from a recognised master in the US. The version we do is very focused on form and sensitivity; it's apparently all about efficient and effective body mechanics, instinctive responses, fast short-range engaging, and putting pressure on the opponent. Wing Chun's commonly viewed as suited to lighter/smaller builds, the veracity of which I don't have the capacity to judge as yet.
