News Constructs (Formal Written Expressions)

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking about starting a news thread on the written/formal constructs that often occur in the news. I have to read and write using a formal style and also have to use the same constructs to give speeches. Discussing a partiular expression may help in using it properly.

I don't understand. If you are in a position or a job that you have to read and write using a formal style and also have to use the same constructs to give speeches, then you should be able to do so without difficulty. Why would you want to discuss such common patterns?

My apology if this is being rude.

I am happy to elaborate about my situation and I never fail to find your suggestions anything but polite.

What I am trying to say is that if you find it helpful to discuss those expressions then it does not seem that you are capable of writing those stuff yet (which is why you need your teacher / colleague to correct them), which is why I said I was being rude. If you have a colleague who can correct them for you, perhaps that colleague is more capable of doing it?

This is my last post on this thread. Sorry for any offence.

I thought Chinese-Forums would be a good way of exchanging learning experience. Isnt that what this forum is all about?

What makes you think that everyone can do their job without difficulty?

I'd be interested in reading them, and I agree that such constructs are important to get familiar with. But I'm afraid I won't be much help in listing any....
