Yezze Posted May 17, 2010 at 01:52 AM Report Posted May 17, 2010 at 01:52 AM Well, my Chinese class is ending soon and the foreign exchange student from my school left today, so the people i normally practice Chinese with are going to be hard to get a hold of. Is there anyone (preferable a native speaker or someone who understands tones well), that might be interested in meeting me over Skype for 10 or 15 minutes every week or two, to help me with pronunciation. I/we could talk in Chinese, and you could give me constructive criticism on what i say. That would provide live feedback by someone who knows Chinese, in replace of me just trying to mimic the recordings i have. I live in the Eastern Standard Time zone and still go to high school during the weekdays. But, I am free Monday- 3:30pm-10:00pm Thursday- 3:30pm-8:00pm Friday- 3:30pm- 10:00pm Saturday- 8:00am-10:00pm Sunday- Noon to 10:00pm If anyone is interested, just respond to this and I will PM you. I would be willing to meet you anyone time during the times listed above, every week or 2 weeks, what ever you want/can do. Or, would it be more professional/efficient to post recordings (with the intended text) on the forum? Thanks! Quote

simonlaing Posted May 18, 2010 at 10:19 AM Report Posted May 18, 2010 at 10:19 AM You're definitely welcome to post audio and the text on here for comments. You know with time zones China is usually 12 and sometimes 13 hours ahead of EST Usa. So Monday- 3:30pm-10:00pm would be 3:30 am to 10 am in the morning in China. Thursday- 3:30pm-8:00pm Friday- 3:30pm- 10:00pm There are some exchange sites you could try. Another possibility if you're up for a challenge is to download the QQ chat software and meet random people on it and ask them to help you pronunciation. You could also do this method with MSN messenger but it will be harder to meet random people. Good luck, Tell us how it goes, Simon P.S. you could also always get an online tutor Quote
Yezze Posted May 19, 2010 at 03:54 AM Author Report Posted May 19, 2010 at 03:54 AM Yea, i know that China is 12 hours a head of EST, that's one reason why i said it would be hard to get a hold of my friend. The more i think about this question, the less logical it seems. I will just post them here, that will make it much easier Quote
