jbradfor Posted May 18, 2010 at 03:21 AM Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 at 03:21 AM You're familiar with the Gibberish Asian Font. You've snickered at people asking for the Chinese Alphabet. You've even learned how to spell English words using Chinese. But yet, you're kept up at night, unable to sleep, wondering if one could learn to speak English knowing only Chinese. Rest easy! Head over to this blog here and learn all about a text book that teaches you to speak English using the closest Chinese sound. Or maybe after reading it you'll be too scared to sleep again.
OneEye Posted May 18, 2010 at 04:34 AM Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 at 04:34 AM Meh, we have that crap in English, too. Have you ever looked through the "(Language Name) in Plain English" series? It's absolutely terrible. Knee how! Knee how. She show jyan dzai nar? Dzai jur. She-eh she-eh knee. May gwan she. That's not an actual excerpt, but it may as well be. And I'm not exaggerating. They put in English words wherever they can get away with it, and the other spellings try to make it so that you can read it as if it were English. roddy Posted May 18, 2010 at 06:30 AM Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 at 06:30 AM I think you can actually get away with it at the most basic of levels - to be honest if you try and teach someone Chinese who's never learned and doesn't have the time or inclination to learn English properly, they're going to speak like that anyway. Any more than a couple of statements or conditioned responses though, and it's a bit useless. 爱 卡诺特 斯匹克 英格力士.搜热议.
Shi Tong Posted May 18, 2010 at 11:20 AM Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 at 11:20 AM hahaha. This reminds me of the way the Chinese (Taiwan based in this instance) translate English names, the most hilarious being some of the famous actors with sounds like: 凯玩洗被西 Very enjoyable.
