xianhua Posted May 25, 2010 at 10:36 PM Report Posted May 25, 2010 at 10:36 PM I'm struggling with the following section of the second lesson, entitled I'll write below my interpretation of the first part of the text (which may be way off) but then the second part loses me completely. I realise it probably isn't easy to translate into English (I know mine sounds awkward), but any translation which gets to grips with the literal Chinese would be great. Talking with this kind of person is hardly like playing ball, back and forth, asking and answering, nor is it like rolling a snowball where you take an interesting topic and it just snowballs. Posted May 26, 2010 at 03:12 AM Report Posted May 26, 2010 at 03:12 AM Here's my attempt. Hope it helps. Talking with this kind of person is hardly like playing ball in which you throw out the ball and you catch it because you give out your opinion but get no response, nor is it like rolling a snowball (the topic) that grows bigger and bigger. While the too energetic ones are obsessed only in throwing out the ball, not caring whether you can catch it or not, the inactive ones are totally different; they can rarely seize one or two propelled balls. Quote
