Sophocracy

Hello, this is my first post here. I have a question. I need a word in Chinese that is equivalent to the western word Sophocracy, from Greek sophos = sage (not philosopher) and kratein = to rule, to govern, like democracy but not demos = people. Basically, a state ruled by sages, wise men. I tried looking on the internet but the closest I to came was 聖哲統治. Can anyone confirm this is correct?

I tried my hand at it, and did not find "sophocracy" as an entire word in my Pleco dictionary, however I found that the second pair of characters in your translation does refer to 'cracy'. Where did you get your translation?

and for sophos, the closest things it had was "sage" and "-sophy" (like philo-sophy). While i'm tempted to think that -sophy/sage/sophos all are related, i wouldn't bet a translation on it.

I recomman the word 圣贤政治。

圣贤：圣人和贤人的合称。亦泛称道德才智杰出者。

《易·鼎》：“彖曰：圣人亨以享上帝，而大亨以养圣贤。”

After extensive Googling it seems no such word exists in Mandarin. The only hits I got were ones of you posting a forum and a few red herrings. Still, I guess 圣贤政治 would suffice as a literal translation.

政治 is a modern word,so i rcommand a old fassion word:圣贤之道。

Wow, thanks. I' think I'll go with the last suggestion. It would be ideal if such a word existed in Classical Chinese, maybe someone would know how to create one. But oh well. Thanks anyway.
