Jordi Posted June 2, 2010 at 08:15 PM Report Posted June 2, 2010 at 08:15 PM Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone here was starting at Nanjing Normal o Nanda next september? I am Spanish and just have given up my job and heading over Nanjing Normal Uni to improve my Mandarin for one semester. Would be cool to get in touch with anyone who is there and maybe we can discuss accommodation, exchange tips and other plans. Jordi Quote

Jordi Posted August 11, 2010 at 03:55 AM Author Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 03:55 AM Hi, Troy, Very glad you wrote. Nanjing Normal University is 南京师范大学, Nánjīng Shīfàn Dàxué, a normal university, a place which purpose was to train graduate students to be teachers and stablishing teaching norms, hence its name. So yeah, I also will be in Nanjing from September on, so I will really happy to meet you there. So excited! Jordi Quote
thewamphyri Posted August 11, 2010 at 04:32 AM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 04:32 AM So Nanjing Uni is Nanjing 'normal' Uni? As, I am not sure if that is the case (I can find no confirm either way). Quote
Jordi Posted August 11, 2010 at 05:05 AM Author Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 05:05 AM Oh, I am sorry, No, they are two different universities; Nanda, aka NJU, and Nanshida, NNU. We're going to stay in different universities, but in the same city. Hope it helps. Quote
thewamphyri Posted August 11, 2010 at 05:13 AM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 05:13 AM Ahhh. Okay. So how far apart are they? My dorm is in Goulou (I recalling the spelling - might be off somewhat). Troy Quote
