Old Book Translation Help

I bought this book last summer in Inner Mongolia. The shopowner just kept telling me it was very old over and over in Chinese. Any idea what it is?

1.It is very strange the sentence on the surface of a book.

2.The wrong charactar "卦".

3.The handwriting is not good in my opinion.

4.Why does the ＂书经体　卷　二＂appears twice?

It seemed that the book is one of a set of woke but we can not get enough information from the surface.

1. The sentence is not strange: It's from 书经, written in 6 CE. According to Wikipedia, this work appears to have three type of texts: the New Text version, the Old Text version, and the forged Old Text version. Reason that it's strange, might be because it could be the forged Old Text version?

2. 卦 is used, because in the ancient past, they didn't have many characters to utilize, so they depended on context if the characters were written the same but has a different meaning than the usual one, etc... It is afterwards that a 扌 was added to 卦 for clarification.

3. In my opinion, it's very good. I wouldn't say it's perfect though.

4. Have you noticed that each time it's written, it's actually written in different calligraphic styles?

Has anyone noticed that there's actually a character after 榜? Due to it being covered up, it's hard to tell what that would be.

It's clear that on this cover the calligraphy is used as an art form.

"书经体　卷二" = This is a work of two or more bamboo scrolls of which this is the second scroll["卷二"]. A bamboo scroll can be very short or it could be very long.

It might or might not be. Depending on how many times it's been published, etc... If this is a real copy, then why worry? If it's a fake version, then start worrying.

The calligraphic style is excellent, but the characters are all backwards/mirrored? Is that how it was intended to be or somebody made an error and put it on backwards to fool people by showing the first and last pages only?
