ddxue Posted June 7, 2010 at 07:11 PM Report Posted June 7, 2010 at 07:11 PM Are there any IME's that allow for the displaying of pinyin above Chinese characters that I don't recall off the top of my head, for example if I hover over a character or highlight a character? It would a lot quicker to read the pinyin that pops up than copying and pasting the character into an online dictionary. Quote
jbradfor Posted June 8, 2010 at 12:36 AM Report Posted June 8, 2010 at 12:36 AM I don't follow. An IME is a system for entering characters. If you don't know the pinyin or the characters, how can you enter it? Are you asking for a way to hover over text and it will show the meaning and the pinyin? If so, read this thread. Quote
ddxue Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:01 AM Author Report Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:01 AM Sorry for any confusion, I was somehow thinking that an IME would bundle that functionality as well. Thanks a lot for the link though, I'll check it out! Quote
roddy Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:07 AM Report Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:07 AM There's also this. However I suspect you actually want one or another of the popup translation options. Quote

Zomac Posted June 16, 2010 at 07:39 PM Report Posted June 16, 2010 at 07:39 PM are you talking about annotation tools? Try Adsotrans because it's simple: http://popupchinese.com/tools/adso Quote
ddxue Posted July 4, 2010 at 02:46 AM Author Report Posted July 4, 2010 at 02:46 AM I recently switched to Chrome from Firefox cause it's so much faster than Firefox and I found the "Zhongwen: A Chinese-English Popup Dictionary" extension is pretty good. Quote
