tboasis7 Posted June 9, 2010 at 04:32 PM Report Posted June 9, 2010 at 04:32 PM I'm heading to China in about 2 months and am going to be taking a lot of pictures. Where can I upload pictures for public viewing w/o being blocked? I know there are ways to get around the firewall, but I want to stay out of jail lol Thanks, and if this topic is already been answered please leave me a link that is recent as the government is always changing the sites blocked. 谢谢! gougou Posted June 10, 2010 at 01:25 AM Report Posted June 10, 2010 at 01:25 AM As of right now, both Flickr and Picasa are accessible. And nobody has gone to jail for skirting the great wall (AFAIK), so no need to panic. Quote
liuzhou Posted June 11, 2010 at 01:39 AM Report Posted June 11, 2010 at 01:39 AM Photobucket, Flickr, Picassa. The only blocked photo site I'm aware of is Imageshack. Quote
roddy Posted June 11, 2010 at 06:10 AM Report Posted June 11, 2010 at 06:10 AM Any free hosting site is liable to get blocked at the whim of the government. However if you're just wanting to be able to upload stuff and have people overseas view it, just set up some kind of proxy or VPN and you're set. You won't get arrested. Or at least if they start arresting people, they'll be coming for me, gougou and liuzhou first, so you should have ample warning to get out of town. Edit: Is flickr blocked to some extent? I seem to have trouble viewing images quite often. Quote
