Found this for the name Tom

http://http://z.about.com/d/chineseculture/1/0/G/u/3/tom.gif

I see that the pinyin for this is: tang1 mu3

With the mu3 meaning governess, and having the radical for woman included in its character, is it still ok for a guy's name? Don't know if there are any more masculine names out there for Tom or not, but I'll leave that for all of you to help me with. ;)

From what I've read in Chinese books, 汤姆 is practically the ONLY way I've seen Tom written. Don't worry, it won't sound or look feminine at all because it's the widely accepted way to write the name in Chinese by everybody. B)

I'm a Tom, and yes, most people call me 汤姆, dispite the fact I have a Chinese name, so dont worry about it ;)

Or you could go the whole hog and get a full Chinese name- mine is 方(surname)熙同- with the 同 representing the Tom sound of my name.
