(Edit- title capitalization fail)

I was wondering when someone (in America) says "Time to eat", "Ready to go", "Lets go", "Are you coming", ect..... sometimes people answer "One minute".

In China, if someone says the same things, would the response of "One minute" just be 一分钟, or is there something more authentic.

Thanks

To my ear, 等一下 is more formal. As a customer in a restaurant, shop, etc., I'd expect to hear 请等一下 more often than 请等一等.

I'm guessing 等等 and 等一會兒 are also possible without much of a difference in formality from 等一等. Is that right?

马上 or 来了 - more or less equivalent to 'right away' and 'coming!' might also be options.

chinese say" yi fen zhong", just like Americans say "w8", or "one min", he is asking for holding on one moment, not literally "60 secs"

I normally just use 等等 or 等会儿, the latter intended for a slightly longer wait. I think 稍等 is a bit politer than the others, I often hear it used in restaurants by waiters and waitresses.

稍等(一会儿) is also quite common.

It is very common. I have never heard anyone say 一分钟.

I have never heard anyone say 一分钟.

I knew that wasn't going to be right at all, so i wondered what was.

I feel that i know an ok amount of "grammatically correct" Chinese, and i know that people don't always speak in perfect/ complete sentences, so know i am starting to wondering how people really speak (in a relaxed situation, as in, at home or with buddies).
