好好学习，天天向上 and its translation

I believe most of you have heard this line before. So how would you translate it? Personally, I would translate it as, "work hard; aim high". How do you think of this version?

I would make a more literal translation. "Study well; improve daily."

I thought the standard translation was "good good study, day day up".
