First time teacher seeking advice

I want to teach in Qingdao.

I have no teaching experience. English is my first language. I'm a 21-year-old caucasian male from Canada. I've completed 3 years of a 4 year university program, so I don't have a degree yet. I don't have TEFL or TESOL certificates.

I've read here that even with my qualifications (or lack thereof), I can still get a job teaching English. Most importantly is that I get a working visa before I go to China and don't fall for the lie that someone can change my visa.

What kind of school would be suitable for my background (public? private? university?)?

If I move there with a tourist visa as I didn't find any work yet, would a legit school that hires me be able to change my visa to a work one?

Should I find the names of all the schools in Qingdao and contact them directly, or should I go to a recruiting Web site? What do you recommend for someone just starting out?

My Mandarin is intermediate.

I plan on settling in Qingdao.
