laopengyou Posted July 5, 2010 at 09:12 PM Report Posted July 5, 2010 at 09:12 PM Hi all, I've been listening to this quite a few times : http://media.soundof...ing_shu_new.mp3 It's a joke, somewhat in the xiangsheng 相声 style, but I have somme difficulties in getting the punch line of it, as the very last words are unclear to me. It's about a student named Xiao Wang 小王 who's in love with one of his classmates, but he's too shy to declare his love to the girl. One day, he finally finds the courage to stick a love letter (written by his 'pa, if I'm not mistaken) into the hands of his dear one, and then he takes to his heels as quick as a flash. Next day, the girl calls him on the phone, but it turns out that what he gave her was not a love letter but something else, for she asks him : 昨天, 你塞给我一XXX干什么 ? No matter how I try, I can't figure out what Xiao Wang actually gave her, so I'm missing something. Can you please help me ? Thanks in advance. lapoengyou Quote

jiangping Posted July 5, 2010 at 10:00 PM Report Posted July 5, 2010 at 10:00 PM I think it says 一百塊錢 Quote
laopengyou Posted July 6, 2010 at 10:45 AM Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 at 10:45 AM Thanks a lot for the answer. In fact, I knew it must be something like that : what else could it be, anyway ? It's just that the words 一百塊錢 are a bit slurred, IMHO. By the way, the love letter was never written by the guy's father. It was simply zhoubaba 皺巴巴, or wrinkled, because the guy had clenched his fist on it in his pocket many a time before he dared give it to his beloved one. Best regards. laopengyou Quote
Shi Tong Posted July 6, 2010 at 11:54 AM Report Posted July 6, 2010 at 11:54 AM It's not slurred, it's just spoken quickly, it's actually very clear! ;) Yeah, it's 100 dollars.. Quote
