Pengyou Posted July 6, 2010 at 03:56 AM Report Posted July 6, 2010 at 03:56 AM I have had a rather wild idea for years of buying a motor scooter to scoot around China in the summer. I will be traveling alone. I am wondering if anyone has done this kind of thing before? Does anyone know the laws about "unrolling" a sleeping bag under a tree, or some other remote area - camping? I would be starting from Shanghai and either going south or west, possibly as far as Kunming. Quote
HalaMadrid Posted July 6, 2010 at 07:59 AM Report Posted July 6, 2010 at 07:59 AM I wish I could reply with useful information but can only second your petition for others' wisdom. I thought a trip across Xinjiang would be amazing. Start in Kashi, out to the border and then back to Urumqi. Does anyone know about specific issues related to a trip like this such as ability/safety to sleep on the side of the road. What are the regulations for riding/operating a motor bike? Thank you Quote
Pengyou Posted July 7, 2010 at 02:16 PM Author Report Posted July 7, 2010 at 02:16 PM What I have learned so far is that, universally across China, a motorcycle/scooter over 50 cc's requires a drivers license. Not much to go on though... Quote
