TimeAsia Cover... Shanghai: The New World Capital

What is the current status of Shanghai World Financial Center? Supposedly it will be the world's tallest building, but the latest news I heard is that the project is currently on hold.

New York is revamping its skyline, with this residential building being one of the possible additions. A decision will be made this month.

Shanghai a world capital? I'd like to read that news....too bad the fellas in Beijing have blocked Time magazine.

It's a "Time" article, so it isn't very deep, don't worry if you can't read it.

I'm hoping that articles about China in the western media will move on from the "Wow! China is big! And strange, yet familiar! And everyone is getting rich! Wow!" stage soon.

Yep, Woodcutter is right. Check out the October 4, 2004 issue of Fortune Magazine, a special issue devoted entirely to China. :D

I browsed through it and it goes into much more detail than those Time articles.
