xuechengfeng Posted September 25, 2004 at 06:10 PM Report Posted September 25, 2004 at 06:10 PM Are you allowed to take a pet overseas to China if you plan to live there for awhile? I want to move there for about 6 months after I graduate, and my girlfriend and I have a dog. Quote
doumeizhen Posted October 24, 2004 at 01:23 AM Report Posted October 24, 2004 at 01:23 AM I just ran into a foreigner at the animal hospital, and they said they had no trouble brining their dogs here, only that the people on the plane did not feed them. Nonetheless, if you have a dog here, you do "technically" have to get them registered (mine is not), but it is a lot of run-around. I don't think he said there was a quarqantine coming into the country. If you decide to bring them, just make sure that you have all of the paper work. The registration (a couple of hundred US dollars) you can ask your landlord to help you with, but make sure they are ok with pets. Now, I am still trying to get the dog back, which people tell me is no trouble. On this end, I need to get her a double-bottomed case, she has to have her rabies vaccination, and have an inspection ten days before she leaves. Then, that inspection has to be verified by some office or another. but we do all of that the week before we leave. The only thing I am worried about is LAX airport, which provides no inpformation on whether or not a perfectly healthy dog would be quarantined. You might want to ask the airport you are coming home through about this. And then tell me. Good Luck! Quote
