New Members vvanesse59 Posted July 28, 2010 at 08:36 PM New Members Report Posted July 28, 2010 at 08:36 PM I teach taiji/qigong at local community college and am beginning to learn some Chinese so I say the different terms correctly. I have simple request to help me when I say " I teach taijiquan and qigong" Wo____ taijiquan he qigong. I find so many different definitions in mdbg dictionary that could be used I have become confused. Another word I am unable to find is "booth". I can find roadside booth but nothing like we have in our Chinese restaurant. One of the waitresses suggested "safa" which translates out to "sofa" but she said that was about as close as she would know it to be. Thanks in advance. 1 Quote

tboasis7 Posted July 29, 2010 at 10:46 PM Report Posted July 29, 2010 at 10:46 PM Although the dictionary you used is quite good, NCIKU is a lot more easy to work with, try that one too to get some further clarification. Hope it helps!! Quote
Jane_PA Posted July 29, 2010 at 11:51 PM Report Posted July 29, 2010 at 11:51 PM I wonder that the original post asked about 火车座 in restaurant in China... I know some restaurants in China called those two long chairs face to face Train Seat 火车座 because that looks like the seats in train... Quote
