subishii Posted July 30, 2010 at 04:29 AM Report Posted July 30, 2010 at 04:29 AM Hi guys and girls, This is my first post, nice to meet you all. I'm looking at buying one of the following two dictionaries, preferably the second one: Gu Hanyu changyong zi zidian 古漢語常用字字典. Beijing: Shangwu Yinshuguan, 1979. Shi Dong 史東 Jianming gu Hanyu cidian 簡明古漢語詞典. Kunming: Yunnan Renmin Chubanshe, 1985. My question is, does anyone know where I could order these from online. I live in Australia so postage needs to be possible to here. Also, if anyone has any recommendations of other resources I'm all ears. I'm trying to translate a 17th/18th century Daoist text. So far I've been using mainly Paul Rouzer's 'A new practical primer of literary Chinese', as well as Pulleyblank for grammar, and Fuller's 'An introduction to literary Chinese' and Faurot's 'A practical guide to literary Chinese' for extra definitions. However, I'm expecting there to be a number of characters/words I can't find definitions for in these sources, hence the above dictionaries. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Quote
subishii Posted July 30, 2010 at 08:32 AM Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 at 08:32 AM Ok, never mind, I found the first one. So just the second one: Shi Dong 史東 Jianming gu Hanyu cidian 簡明古漢語詞典. Kunming: Yunnan Renmin Chubanshe, 1985. And of course any advice as per the second part of the previous post. Cheers! Quote
