Numbers / measure words with 来

True. I could not find a correct word to describe the problem and picked up countable or uncountable nouns...

Whatever, for those words, I really never thought about or learned about how to use. Native speakers just follow people around to see how do other people say, how do other people write, then follow.

Just like English, I never clearly figure out when to use articel "the", when not to use it. After I have studied many years in the U.S. I think the way that I learn to use "the" is just feel and see how other people use it...

Not to dig up an old thread but because my girlfriend loves to watch scary, gory movies and today is movie night this crossed my mind:

Bearing in mind what kind of movies I was watching, just here would I be wrong to use 十二个来人？

Aeriph has got his question from the Boya intermediate book II . Page 46. I have the same problem it looks like as him. The book also gets even more confusing which I will write now:

 

注意： “十斤来重” 和 “十来斤重”  意思不同。 前者只能比十斤多或少一二两，而后者可以比十斤多或少一二斤。   OK so that is how it is exactly written in the book. 

 

Also another point where I dont understand is there are questions and U have to fill 来 in the gap where it is right.

 

1.  两——块——钱     so does 来 go before or after 块 ？？ 

2.  50——块——钱     before or after and the same for 3 & 4

3.  9——米 —— 高      

4.  1000 ——米—— 长

 

Now I found the answers on a web page   http://www.aprendechinohoy.com/blog/?page_id=1384      and they really do confuse me. 

 

I chose those above ones because of the answers which are:-

 

1. 两——块来钱 

2. 50来块——钱 

 

3.  9——米来高

4. 1000 来米——长

 

1 & 2 are for money yet the 来 gets placed after in No.1 and before in No.2

 

For 3 & 4 both are length yet again the 来 gets placed in different places and in my logic it shouldnt. 

 

Can anyone shed some light on this murky 来.
