New Members Wido Posted August 3, 2010 at 11:15 AM New Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2010 at 11:15 AM Greetings to everybody! I am a newcomer to this forum and I think it's wonderful. I would like you to consider the following sentence (I think the writer is Taiwanese but I'm not so sure): 帕盧申的豪語讓亞里厄巴特有種稍受揶揄的感覺. My problem is with 受揶揄. Is it a passive voice, with the meaning of "to be derided", litterally "to suffer derision"? I've tried to translate it as follows: "The bombast of Paulsen made Aryabart have a certain feeling of being slightly derided". In other words: did Aryabart feel that he was being derided by the bombastic tone of Paulsen's words? I thank you in advance for any kind of help you might give.
