Gharial Posted August 4, 2010 at 04:12 AM Report Posted August 4, 2010 at 04:12 AM I've just noticed that nciku is now supplying a list giving information about radicals: http://blog.nciku.com/blog/en/?page_id=362 How authoritative do the colloquial names that nciku has assigned the radicals (and to so many of them, compared to the printed sources I've previously consulted!) seem to you? And do you have any comments about the nciku list in general? Quote
Olle Linge Posted August 10, 2012 at 11:14 AM Report Posted August 10, 2012 at 11:14 AM I have checked most of them with native speakers and they are not perfect, but pretty good. The ones my friedns have said they aren't sure about are those that are very rare, often independent characters that are rarely used at such. For instance, 艹 almost never occurrs as 艸, so few people will know what to call that (but everyone knows 草字頭). So, in general, they are okay, but not perfect. Quote
