Hello,

My chinese is only at an itermediate stage but I don't think they are chinese characters. Another case of not enough reaserch before permanently deciding:) I may be wrong, but I don't recognise any of them except perhaps one of them which could be the number 8. Good luck:)

No its not mine. A friend of mien has it and she wont tell me what it says, i had to do it a sneaky way. I thought it may be Japanese (studied Japanese when i was a child for a year or two in school) but i wasn't sure.

転び=跌倒=to fall

起き=起来=to arise

It sounds like an idiom, means whenever I fall, the next moment I'll get up.

PS: I see the post by Skylee.This must be the right one, so I was not quite correct. :rolleyes:

It's a Japanese saying (nana korobi hachi oki) meaning "if at first you don't succeed, try try again. Literally meaning "fall down seven times, get up eight"

I never remember how to read that thing, yet somehow 十人十色 (jûnin toiro) I can remember.
