skylee Posted August 11, 2010 at 12:41 PM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 12:41 PM skylee, every time i ask for help here..you always ask why... This is not true. I did not always ask why. I was the first to provide you with a translation on this thread. I did not ask you why on this thread either. gougou did. Quote
renzhe Posted August 11, 2010 at 12:54 PM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 12:54 PM I dont have to really tell u why.. You don't, but people will be more inclined to help you if they know the context and what you are having a problem with in particular. Translating takes more time than simply understanding, and there is a danger of getting things wrong in the translation, so people tend to avoid translating longer pieces of text unless they know what it's for. The text is a short introduction by a (half-)Chinese person who came to Australia while very young, and lives in Sydney. The rest is a summary of his/her hobbies. Probably something from a chatroom. A more detailed translation would take more time. 1 Quote
semantic nuance Posted August 11, 2010 at 01:17 PM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 01:17 PM why do you need the translation? That's exactly what I thought about when I read this thread. I wanted to ask but declined later. Quote
jbradfor Posted August 11, 2010 at 01:43 PM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 01:43 PM I dont have to really tell u why.. I just need help with the translation. When asking for help from stangers, you might get a better response if you're more polite.... 2 Quote
Chhhi Posted August 11, 2010 at 03:38 PM Report Posted August 11, 2010 at 03:38 PM It is true you don't have to tell anyone why, but I don't think it's unfair of people who are offering their time and expertise to ask. The translation style would depend on what the purpose was for. Quote

kriziaong Posted August 12, 2010 at 03:20 AM Author Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 03:20 AM ma3zi1, thank you for providing me with translation. And for those who commented on this topic, the only reason I was asking why he needs to know all the time is because when I tried to ask before for translation, skylee already asked me why.. and this is the third time which is a bit upsetting. I came here for help but I guess not all of you are helpful... So thank you very much for the time. this is the last time I will be asking for help here. Quote
semantic nuance Posted August 12, 2010 at 05:34 AM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 05:34 AM I came here for help but I guess not all of you are helpful... So thank you very much for the time. this is the last time I will be asking for help here. There, there! You came here for help and people sometimes needed to know the context for a better / appropriate translation for what you asked. At least you've got help and answer from a member. I did ask for help without any answer / feedback so far but I won't call all the other members not helpful, for they helped me with the other questions I asked. Quote
roddy Posted August 12, 2010 at 10:56 AM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 10:56 AM OP now wants all his / her posts deleted. Quote
renzhe Posted August 12, 2010 at 12:08 PM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 12:08 PM Look, if you don't want to pay a professional translator to translate your essays for you and instead want people on the internet to do it for free, you should be able to handle a question like "what do you need it for?" 1 Quote
skylee Posted August 12, 2010 at 12:35 PM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 12:35 PM I still don't understand why the OP said that I asked him/her why before. As far as the records show, the OP has posted on five threads and I have not asked why on the other four threads. Have I missed something? Quote
jbradfor Posted August 12, 2010 at 01:48 PM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 01:48 PM Don't take it personally, skylee, some people just have their own issues that they take out on others. Quote
Hofmann Posted August 12, 2010 at 02:43 PM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 02:43 PM LOL...I try not to jump to conclusions but... Was anyone impressed by your attentiveness? Quote
SiMaKe Posted August 12, 2010 at 04:10 PM Report Posted August 12, 2010 at 04:10 PM @skylee Please seriously take what jbradfor said to heart. The OP does not appear to appreciate that this forum is neither a free, nor an on-demand, translation site but rather a community of folks with some common interests who are willing to help each other as they are so inclined (or not). Personally, I think the OP should be sent an invoice for services rendered.;) Quote

On the weekend, I like to go swimming at the aquatic centre as well as playing tennis on uni campus.
