My friend took an tattoo and i wonder what it means :)

Would be happy if annyone could translate it :)

looks like a transliteration (phonetic sound-alike) for Nick... is that his name?

the charaters themselves mean Buhdist Nun, and "can" or "be able to" so it is probably just for the sounds. Unless he has some secrets he's not telling you!

The second character, 克, means to subdue, restrain, overcome. But, as already pointed out, is also used to transliterate a name.

Another example is 马克 (ma ke) for Mark。
