巴特B Posted August 28, 2010 at 01:33 PM Report Posted August 28, 2010 at 01:33 PM This is a request for help! I start teaching English speaking and listening to postgraduates next week, and, as no coursebook has been specified, I have to choose one (or several). The students all studied sciences or engineering for their majors. I have been told that I should provide a practical and academic course, covering academic, business/administration, social/daily, cultural, and political/economic communication. I have looked at books in the bookshop of the Foreign Language Press (at the foreign languages university), and in the foreign language bookshop on Wangfujing, which has an extensive range on the second floor, and imported ones on the third. However, I have not found anything appropriate - I've been somewhat overwhelmed by quantity and underwhelmed by quality. Could anyone please offer some advice? If you have taught postgrads before, what did you use? I want to know even if the course requirements were different to mine! ANY help will be appreciated. Quote
