New Members mrjamie Posted August 29, 2010 at 02:15 AM New Members Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 02:15 AM Dreaming while asleep I am good friends with a Chinese girl and we talk online, but her English is not fluent and I have only just begun learning Chinese. I asked her if she dreams while asleep, but she does not understand. I think she knows 'dream' as 'to vainly hope for' rather than 'pictures in your head while asleep'. I would like help in translating 'dream' (meaning while asleep) in to Chinese. I tried to work it out for myself; I think that this means 'to vainly for', which is not what I want 1.梦想 Other options the translation web site gave were; 2.梦 3.梦幻 4.睡梦 verb 1.梦想 2.梦 3.做梦 4.梦见 5.梦到 6.空想 7.梦寐 If you know any other terms about dreaming, such as 'sweet dreams' and 'did you dream last night?' that would be brilliant. Thank you for your help. Quote
knadolny Posted August 29, 2010 at 07:15 AM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 07:15 AM Try these: 你做梦吗? Do you dream? 你昨天晚上做梦了没有? Did you dream last night? 你的梦想有我吗? Am I in your dreams? (very dangerous if you don't plan on marrying the girl) Have fun, Kevin 1 Quote
doraemon Posted August 29, 2010 at 07:23 AM Report Posted August 29, 2010 at 07:23 AM To say "Do you dream while asleep", you can say 你睡觉时做梦吗? “Sweet dreams” would be something like 祝你做个好梦。 1 Quote
