New Members Lyzzielynn Posted August 30, 2010 at 12:46 PM New Members Report Posted August 30, 2010 at 12:46 PM Ok, here goes. I've just came back from china, and the thing is, I met some girls there. They are sisters and I just love their names and the meaning those names conveyed. The thing is I only remember the meanings, but I'm not sure about their names and I don't want to be a complete idiot when I told my friends and I got the voice wrong. Can anyone help me? The elder sister name means Uniting the world. It sounds like shiwei or something like that. The younger one name means wind through out the world. I think her name sounds like shifeng. Thanks in advance! Quote
James Johnston Posted August 30, 2010 at 01:05 PM Report Posted August 30, 2010 at 01:05 PM Perhaps 世维 and 世风. Quote
renzhe Posted August 30, 2010 at 01:08 PM Report Posted August 30, 2010 at 01:08 PM Could be 世围 (shìwéi) and 世风 (shìfēng). 围 doesn't really mean "to unite", though, more like "to encircle". Perhaps it's not the right character. EDIT: yes, 维 is better. Quote
