knadolny Posted August 31, 2010 at 11:44 AM Report Posted August 31, 2010 at 11:44 AM On my recent trip to Shanghai we stopped by the new Hyatt on the Bund. It is actually a little bit north of Suzhou River. The hotel has a fancy bar at the top where I snapped a few pictures and then pasted them together in Photoshop. 1 Quote

rob07 Posted August 31, 2010 at 12:18 PM Report Posted August 31, 2010 at 12:18 PM Nice work. I just got back from Shanghai myself and when I was there one of those skyscrapers, whose Bund facing side is one giant TV screen, was flashing "Welcome to Xi'an" in both English and Chinese. It felt really bizarre seeing that right next to the 东方明珠. Some advertisement by Xi'an tourism board apparently. Quote

skylee Posted August 31, 2010 at 01:09 PM Report Posted August 31, 2010 at 01:09 PM Nice picture. I am posting two pictures I took in April 2004 at M on the Bund IIRC. Not sure if there are any marked differences (the scenes, not the quality of the pictures). Since then I haven't taken any similar pictures in Shanghai. Quote
knadolny Posted August 31, 2010 at 01:16 PM Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 at 01:16 PM What camera did you use? My camera is an old one. Sony DSC-V1. I want to upgrade to a digital SLR but for the mean time this little camera does some nice pictures. The trick is to have a tripod (mine is six inches tall so nothing fancy) and to have the exposure for not too short and not too long. I am posting two pictures I took in April 2004 at M on the Bund IIRC Nice pictures skylee. I see no SWFC and the buildings don't have huge advertisements on them yet. And the Pudong side is not as dense as it is now. Quote
