I thought 鑫 is a very common given name?
It is, we've been talking about it above already. What I meant is, trading chastity for money and all that...

Thank you, jbradfor. I was already considering changing my name to something with 败, but apparently that can wait then.

How about Peter Parker? 他是失败的人。

Hmm, I'm not really sure if 金字旁 in names actually means literally "a lot of money" or not in a chinese sense. My friend, whose 生辰八字 五行缺水 (don't know how to say this in English, sorry), was named 淼淼 by her parents to make it up, not that they wanted her to become a water tycoon or what... I guess this could also be the reason for having names like 鑫铭, 炎焱, 林森, etc. :P

Which reminds me of the name of one of Stephen Chow's characters - 鑫淼 in 他來自江湖. Because the name is so complicated (presumably people in the story don't know how to pronounce it), people just call him 金水. :P

I know someone whose name is 雨恆. I've always wondered if he is 五行欠水 or if he was just born during rainy season. :D
