YingTao Posted September 9, 2010 at 07:09 PM Report Posted September 9, 2010 at 07:09 PM Ok so I'm just picking a temporary name for my Chinese class and think I have finally come up with one. 春青 - is this good? I like that it sounds like 纯情. Is this a fine Chinese name for a girl to have or will I sound silly. Also if this is a good name can anyone suggest a surname to fit this name? Quote
SiMaKe Posted September 9, 2010 at 08:34 PM Report Posted September 9, 2010 at 08:34 PM FWIW, there seems to be a "real" 苗春青here with 苗 being a (real) surname. Quote
skylee Posted September 9, 2010 at 11:39 PM Report Posted September 9, 2010 at 11:39 PM Ah I would not suggest you use 苗春青 (Edit - 春青 does not lead me to think about 純情, but it brings to mind the word 青春 (youth/young) and personally I find this cheesy). But I think 苗青青 (Miao Qingqing) would be a great name. 1 Quote
Lu Posted September 10, 2010 at 10:59 AM Report Posted September 10, 2010 at 10:59 AM I also find 春青 reminds me of 青春, and it seems not quite right for a name, although I don't see anything particularly wrong with it either. Skylee's suggestion sounds nice. Quote
YingTao Posted September 10, 2010 at 05:47 PM Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 at 05:47 PM Oh no, I didn't even know that 青春 was a word. Well then onto my second choice. 若雨? Quote
Hofmann Posted September 10, 2010 at 09:22 PM Report Posted September 10, 2010 at 09:22 PM I like that. Quote
doraemon Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:12 AM Report Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:12 AM You can try alternatives like 苗迎春 or 苗青 which sound like more mature names. 若雨 sounds much better though, you should go with that one. Quote
xiaocai Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:19 AM Report Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:19 AM 苗若雨, sounds good to me, almost like a 武侠小说 name. Quote
