Daan Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:02 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:02 AM That looks like the Chinese character 大 which is pronounced in Mandarin as dà and means 'big', but I suppose what we're looking at on that particular photograph isn't a Chinese character, but rather something Egyptian. So you may want to see if you can find the Egyptian equivalent of this forum to try your luck there ;)
anonymoose Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:02 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:02 AM It looks like a 大 or a 火.
James Johnston Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:05 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:05 AM It's just a stick man, you can find it all over the world. There's no connection to Chinese. But if you insist, it does have some resemblance to 大 meaning 'big' and 火 meaning 'fire', but it's not a perfect match for either. It is however a perfect match for a stick man. palancho Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:46 AM Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:46 AM It's a perfect match for "big", or "to big" for a small brain- it's a story of pharaoh which lost Seth (the lord) for Apep (the false lord), both are represent by snakes. The snake below is Apep. So the pharaoh which lost brain- is doomed by society (by Apep, by chaos- by society wchich got different demands), but mainly by his/her brain- or lack of brain. Apep means chaos. Pharaohs which were not sain- which couldn't rule properly according to society demands, which couldn't judge the society demands- were overthrown in to the state of madness. James Johnston Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:54 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 10:54 AM It's not a perfect match for big. The arms slope upwards, which they shouldn't do in the modern form of 大. I believe it has even less resemblance to ancient ways of writing 大, which is what is really relevant here. I'll add a link to an example if I can find one.
palancho Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:08 AM Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:08 AM Writing This symbols are similar, and were even for ancients. I should say especially for ancients.
James Johnston Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:30 AM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:30 AM http://www.ha.xinhuanet.com/fuwu/kaogu/2006-09/15/content_8021334.htm We'll have to agree to disagree. Given that it is just a stick man, for you to claim some link to ancient China it would have to be an exact match. I would say it isn't. palancho Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:59 AM Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 11:59 AM Could you speak more concretely, I don't know chinese. But I know how language works. Could you translate it for me? My link It doesn't have to be an exact match, couse those symbols are not from ancient china; NOT FROM CHINESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!! NOT FROM EGYPTIAN ASS WELL!!!!!!! James Johnston Posted September 11, 2010 at 12:01 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2010 at 12:01 PM Sorry, I wasn't expecting you to read it. Just the two big red characters at the top are the character 大 as it was written approximately contemporaneously with Ancient Egyptian civilisation. OneEye Posted September 12, 2010 at 05:15 AM Report Share Posted September 12, 2010 at 05:15 AM You need to find an online dictionary. Here: http://www.nciku.com/ You can even draw the characters onto the screen and it will look them up for you. The first characters in the video are 太極拳論, meaning something like "Theory of Tai Chi." 穆 is a surname, or it can mean solemn. It doesn't have to be an exact match, couse those symbols are not from ancient china; NOT FROM CHINESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!NOT FROM EGYPTIAN ASS WELL!!!!!!! Since you seem to know what they are, why don't you tell us? There is almost certainly no link to Chinese, and for you to suggest otherwise requires some pretty convincing evidence. Since you haven't provided any, I think we can safely conclude that it has nothing to do with Chinese other than a superficial resemblance. palancho Posted September 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM Author Report Share Posted September 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM Does in chinese language similar symbols (ideograms) describe similar ideas or words? Does adding sertain symbol emphasize the meaning of the whole symbol (idea)? Does the symbol in this picture is simple (as ideogram)? In my opinion we are now in part of patch of the universe when we look into simplicity and see more powerfull relations. I used your translation, "BIG", I had to believe in your translation couse I don't know chinese language. From my knowledge, on this walls in ancient egypt is written the judgment of the man- this symbol means "the man"- it's even similar to our appearance- is the Man big in the outside? is the man big in the inside? Here is the answer for the interpretation of the symbolic meanings- they are from the inside, not from the outside- so thats why I wrote: language is not from Egyptian and not from Chinese, not from you directly, only by watching you some people start to look into inside- into themselves. You are playing only with ideograms- caligraphy- but to understand the ideogram u need to look into the meaning, as it was yours- this is also the art of learning foreign languages and the art of speaking and writing in your own language- but it needs to be rethink. The old chinese and not only chinese martial arts masters walked both ways- I'm pretty sure that you got it from Mongols- people without homeland. There is a place in Kunlun Mountains witch makes all of masters international- love.

palancho Posted September 12, 2010 at 11:24 AM Author Report Share Posted September 12, 2010 at 11:24 AM You can't liberate yourself from the context. Mongols made you, communist still made you. Yours Panda needs children. And all knows that China is enslaved. When you can't fix something from the inside- in your own country you speak like you- couse you probably live in America... Am I good psychologist? (I know where you live from your single post)- so you got answer and confirmation for my above post. Relations beetwen ideas are simple, but not for all.
