Bob Dylan Thomas Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:51 AM Report Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:51 AM the tofu thread below mentioned Okara (豆腐渣). I made my own tofu for the first time ever last night and so i've also got a huge pile of okara left over. my question is this: what can i do with it? i heard you can make dishes out of it but it's hard to digest. anyone got any advice? [also i would recommend making your own tofu: it's quick, easy and fun.] Quote
Ian_Lee Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:40 PM Report Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:40 PM Bob: Actually if you hesitate to put okara inside your stomach, you can use it as lawn food. The roses will blossom longer next spring Quote
wiz_oz Posted October 7, 2004 at 08:20 AM Report Posted October 7, 2004 at 08:20 AM Is okara the left-over from the soy bean after the soy milk has been extracted? If it is, the best thing would be to compost it (ie if you have a compost bin or heap) Should still be rich in nitrogen. (I am trying to establish an organic garden and I have some vegetables ready for harvesting) Quote
