Ian_Lee Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:49 PM Report Posted October 6, 2004 at 09:49 PM Though it sounds sissy and outdated, the love stories written by 瓊瑤 were my favorites during the high school years. I was even more addicted to her writings than to the martial art novels of Jin Yong. Anyone share the same addiction towards her writing? Quote
skylee Posted October 6, 2004 at 11:49 PM Report Posted October 6, 2004 at 11:49 PM I did. But only when I was young. Reading her books was a good way to learn how to write. But I eventually became tired of the stories. Quote
skylee Posted October 7, 2004 at 01:22 PM Report Posted October 7, 2004 at 01:22 PM From this webpage - 《情深深雨朦朦》 男:对 你无情 你残酷 你无理取闹 女:那你就不无情!? :D Quote
Ian_Lee Posted October 9, 2004 at 12:23 AM Author Report Posted October 9, 2004 at 12:23 AM Skylee: I have only read her novels written in the '60s and '70s. I don't know lately that 瓊瑤 has beomce so 婆媽. One of her earlier writings that I liked most is 海鷗飛處. The story began with a girl who got on the last cross-harbor Star ferry to commit suicide: ...... skylee Posted October 9, 2004 at 12:32 AM Report Posted October 9, 2004 at 12:32 AM That dialogue is a joke (but not far from the truth) on her TV series. The passage you quoted is why I said reading her books was a good way to learn how to write. Quote
Ian_Lee Posted October 9, 2004 at 02:18 AM Author Report Posted October 9, 2004 at 02:18 AM I think her novels should be used as promotional material by Taiwan's universities in their brochures. I recalled I dreamed to attend 東海大學 in my matriculation year after reading her campus romance novel with that university as background. Quote
