Don_Horhe Posted September 24, 2010 at 06:10 PM Report Share Posted September 24, 2010 at 06:10 PM Is there a 成语 or some other fixed expression in Chinese which corresponds to 'all in good time'? A friend asked me and I had to admit that I have absolutely no idea. There's a few examples in Nciku and Jukuu, but most are of the 别急 and 到时候再说 persuasion, which aren't what I'm really looking for. aristotle1990 Posted October 28, 2010 at 02:46 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 at 02:46 PM 水到渠成 is good -- 拔苗助长 and 瓜熟蒂落 are similar.
xiaocai Posted October 28, 2010 at 02:55 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 at 02:55 PM There is one thing that I am not too sure. 水到渠成 is kind of like 万事俱备只欠东风, which basically means that all the hard work of preparation has been done in the first place and we are waiting for the right time to come. Does 'all in good time' carry the same connotation? But I don't think 拔苗助长 and 瓜熟蒂落 are similar though...
