orangutan Posted September 27, 2010 at 08:18 AM Report Posted September 27, 2010 at 08:18 AM Hi, I'm preparing to take the New HSK level 6 in November and really want to get hold of some past papers. Obviously it's a new test and there aren't many materials for it at the moment. I've already got the BLCU book of four mock test papers. Today I also attended a class at Global Village in Beijing, which gave me a copy of the level six test from April. But apart from providing this past test paper I didn't find the class very useful so I won't be going back there. So is there anyone out there who has copies of more Level 6 past test papers which I could get a copy of? I'm willing to pay if someone is able to provide me with a few, and of course I'll come over to wherever you are in Beijing to pick them up! Otherwise, if someone else out there just has one other past Level 6 test paper, perhaps we can swap copies? Thanks in advance! Quote
orangutan Posted October 5, 2010 at 01:14 AM Author Report Posted October 5, 2010 at 01:14 AM Hmm, seems I'm not having much luck so far. The main reason I want to get hold of past level six papers is to practise the writing part of the test. Can anyone who has taken the test give me some advice on how it was? In the book of mock tests published by BLCU, three of the four test papers use a classic Chinese legends for the writing part of the test: ie Ma Liang's Magic Pen, The Weaver and the Cow Herd, and Hou Yi Shoots Down the Sun. Only one of the stories is a modern tale. But the one actual past test paper I've managed to get hold of is also a modern tale. It's also quite a bit easier than those mock tests - I had no problem finishing reading it within the 10-minute time limit whereas I struggled to do this on those mock tests. So how have people found it on the level six test? Did you get an old story or modern one? You really need a special kind of vocabulary for reading those legends and as I don't have that much time before the exam, I'm wondering how much time I should spend practising reading those and how much I should focus on practising reading and writing something more modern. Thanks for any tips! I'm still after past papers if anyone's got them! Quote
