HedgePig Posted October 4, 2010 at 03:02 PM Report Posted October 4, 2010 at 03:02 PM In an Nciku conversation, I came across both 帐户 and 账户 used to mean "bank account". Are both correct? (Nciku and CEDICT both seems to think so.) If so, is there any distinction between the two or are they interchangeable? Quote
Don_Horhe Posted October 4, 2010 at 03:57 PM Report Posted October 4, 2010 at 03:57 PM This is the Contemporary Standard Chinese Dictionary entry for 账, taken also from Nciku: 账"原来也写作"帐"。《第一批异形词整理表》已确定"账"为规范词形。含"账"的复合词均不要写作"帐"。 Quote
HedgePig Posted October 6, 2010 at 03:23 AM Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 at 03:23 AM Thanks Don_Horhe....but that's in Chinese! Is it saying that both were originally used but that 账 is now the standard? Quote
Don_Horhe Posted October 6, 2010 at 02:52 PM Report Posted October 6, 2010 at 02:52 PM Yes - it says that 账 is the standard form, and that all compounds written with 账 cannot be written with 帐. Quote
