How would one say this in Chinese?

With trading shares, you have an equal chance of making or losing money, but with gambling, the odds are always skewed in favour of the casino.

It's mainly the second part that I can't figure out a good translation for.

Thanks skylee. Did you translate it like that because a more literal translation wouldn't be as native-like?

炒股票时,赚钱和输钱的可能性基本上一样,但是对于赌博来说,赚钱的可能性歪曲向赌场那一边。

I know that's not very good, but it's all I could come up with with my limited Chinese.

You could consider using these words - 賠 / 賠錢 ; 贏 / 贏錢 ; 莊家.

Personally I like putting ideas in chengyu-like expressions. In my city, 輸多贏少 is a very common expression. And we like to use 可升可跌/有升有跌 when we talk about investments. When we want to emphasise the risks involved, we use 可跌可升 instead. Government advice : 基金價格可升可跌 / 基金價格可跌可升. :D

炒股票,赢钱输钱,机会均等;赌博呢,赢钱的机会总是偏向赌场。
