Duncan Leung Posted October 9, 2010 at 05:06 AM Report Posted October 9, 2010 at 05:06 AM Hey guys, There's an older-orphan mentoring program that I help out with here in Beijing, and I was thinking of taking the kids (18-20 years of age) to a museum. Are there any museums that you guys have been to and would recommend? My concern is that the museums here would be boring/shoddy. Thanks for your help. Looking forward to your feedback! 1 Quote
roddy Posted October 9, 2010 at 05:24 AM Report Posted October 9, 2010 at 05:24 AM If there's a bus, try the Tank and Aviation museums (or you can do the aviation one at least on public transport). Capital Museum at Muxidi is one of the better ones, and you could do the Military museum at the same time. Quote
889 Posted October 9, 2010 at 06:34 AM Report Posted October 9, 2010 at 06:34 AM If they're 18-20 and from Beijing, you'll have to wonder what museums of interest they haven't been to yet, if only on school trips. In any event, I recall reading about a railway museum -- old rolling stock and stuff -- that sounded interesting, though I haven't visited it. (Just to be clear, I'm talking about the 中国铁道博物馆 out in the middle of nowhere, not the 北京铁路博物馆 right at Qianmen.) Maybe they'd enjoy a trip to a bowling alley more. Quote
