Sakat Posted October 9, 2010 at 01:38 PM Report Posted October 9, 2010 at 01:38 PM Hello everyone, I'm opening this thread to ask some advices. I'm currently studying cinema in Tokyo but I'll move next year with my girlfriend in China. I plan to keep on studying film there and after a quick research the Beijing Film Academy seems to be a good university. Has anyone heard about that university? Any feedback? I'll have to learn Chinese to do so. I studied Japanese that helps a little for hanzis. Btw, I'm not so worried about the language. But I'm more concerned where I should learn it. There is the possibility to study Chinese at BFA. The good point (I think but might be wrong) is that I would already have a connexion with the school. I suppose that should help to be admitted in the undergraduate program? Or there is a very good place to study Chinese in Beijing I should definitively go? To be admitted in the Academy there are several tests. I know that many chinese students apply every year but only a few are selected; pretty selective.. After checking these examinations it seems (not sure about it) that foreigners have a slighty different one. Here is the 2010 examinations for cinematography: 摄 影 电影摄影方向 2月25日下午 初试 笔试:文艺及综合知识(文学、美术、戏剧、音乐、电影、摄影、智力测试等内容,考生自备2B铅笔) 2月28日下午 复试 笔试:1.影片读解(观摩故事片后回答与此影片内容相关的 问题) 3月1日下午 2.命题创作(根据命题故事内容,创作画出6-8幅画面, 叙述故事情节。绘画形式不限,自带画具) 3月4日起 三试 面试:综合素质考察(考生可自带本人美术、摄影作品) (Complete informations: http://www.bfa.edu.cn/yx/site1/20091208/000ae43ac9320c88545001.doc) I've some apprehension about these entry tests. If I'm asked about Chinese litterature well... Did anyone pass that kind of examinations? That's all about the current issues. If someone has any advice, idea, remark (or also a funny joke but I prefer an advice) it's more than welcome! Thank you in advance, Sakat Quote
