Jay Stansfield Posted October 11, 2010 at 07:15 AM Report Posted October 11, 2010 at 07:15 AM A warm hello x I am travelling to Hong Kong in the next few days and, being a songwriter and artist, I was intending to take some copies of my CD's. What would be the best way to present them as a gift to the people I will be meeting over there? Do I need to wrap them or would it be acceptable to just gift a CD without wrapping? Thanking you in advance, Jay xxx http://portals.jaystansfield.co.uk Quote
abcdefg Posted October 12, 2010 at 01:43 AM Report Posted October 12, 2010 at 01:43 AM Do I need to wrap them or would it be acceptable to just gift a CD without wrapping? Wrapping not needed. However, these may be perceived more as promotional items than as sincere gifts. Quote

Each one is handmade...in fact it's all taken quite a lot of time and creativity to produce, so surely it would be seen as a gift? I could understand if it was just a plastic CD case but a lot of love has gone into making these and they aren't your average CD. Thank you for your advice though- I will bear it in mind. x x Quote
889 Posted October 12, 2010 at 07:51 AM Report Posted October 12, 2010 at 07:51 AM Chinese custom is not to open presents in front of the giver, so wrapped or unwrapped, don't be disappointed if folks don't take much of a look at the CDs and just set them aside with thanks. Quote
