OneEye Posted October 13, 2010 at 04:26 AM Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 at 04:26 AM [He's] still stalking, I'll come chase him away. 死纏活纏 -- idiom that means "to stalk a person incessantly"
billykid Posted October 13, 2010 at 12:45 PM Author Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 at 12:45 PM Thanks. Can that meaning be added to the database?

renzhe Posted October 14, 2010 at 12:25 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 at 12:25 PM MDBG is an online dictionary which currently maintains the free downloadable CC-CEDICT dictionary. You can add definitions using their online interface, and they will be reviewed by some editors for inclusion. CC-CEDICT is fantastic since it's the biggest Free dictionary out there using a permissive license. We used it extensively for our First Episode Project. There are other online dictionaries you can use free of charge, but you can't download the whole dictionary, and you are typically not allowed to duplicate or use their definitions for anything. That said, CC-CEDICT (and thus MDBG) is not the most comprehensive online dictionary out there and misses some important stuff. The best way to help is to add definitions when you see that something is missing. To the best of my knowledge, MDBG is not related to chinese-forums, other than the fact that many Chinese learners use both.
billykid Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:27 PM Author Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:27 PM Thanks. So I don't have to actually download CC-CEDICT since MDBG is basically the up to date version of it?
renzhe Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:38 PM Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 at 05:38 PM Yes. It can still be useful to download it if you use an offline program based on CC-CEDICT, or want to write scripts to automatically look up words, and similar.
