baambi Posted October 25, 2010 at 09:56 AM Report Posted October 25, 2010 at 09:56 AM I always come across so much interesting vocabulary without being able to find an appropriate 例句 to write on my flashcard. The sentences at dict.cn and Yellowbridge often aren`t exactly useful or simple enough. What`s your strategy to find some useful phrases in order to remember new vocab? Quote
jbradfor Posted October 27, 2010 at 09:43 PM Report Posted October 27, 2010 at 09:43 PM Have you tried jukuu? Quote
來撒母耳 Posted November 13, 2010 at 05:29 PM Report Posted November 13, 2010 at 05:29 PM This is something I'm interested in as well. I have tried jukuu through mdbg.com and found that the sentences are very much on the complex side and not for a beginner like me. Have you tried simply inserting new words into previously studied sentence patterns? Quote
baambi Posted November 15, 2010 at 08:35 AM Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 at 08:35 AM With this method I am not so happy either. The software "Wenlin - 文林" for some words has some nice patterns. Right now I am mostly relying on my tutor to check my sentences. Quote
Chinadoog Posted November 15, 2010 at 11:05 AM Report Posted November 15, 2010 at 11:05 AM you could always just choose some vocab from whatever you're reading/watching/listening to. that way you'll always have the word in a sentence and in the type of context that it's usually used it. Quote
baambi Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:03 PM Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:03 PM Unfortunately I find lots of vocab without good context. Additionally my book kind of sucks in terms of context. Isn`t it that most of the HSK books introduce lots of vocabulury, maybe even ordered? Might check it out next time I am in a book store. Quote
