Marco77 Posted October 18, 2004 at 12:18 PM Report Posted October 18, 2004 at 12:18 PM Dear All, I am about to start writing my undergraduate thesis in Chinese. My chosen subject was the Female Representation in the Cinema of Zhang YiMou. I am very concerned as I never had to write in Chinese in such an academic way. Does anybody know of any books or websites that would help me with punctuation, and more complex academic Chinese sentences? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out! Thanking you all in advace, Marco Quote
Jive Turkey Posted October 18, 2004 at 01:21 PM Report Posted October 18, 2004 at 01:21 PM You might have a look at the 3rd and 4th year 汉语写作教程 textbooks from BLCU. I've only got the 2nd year one. It doesn't get into academic writing just yet, but I'm almost certain that the 3rd and 4th year books do as I think BLCU BA students have to write a thesis/dissertation in their 4th year. Just out of curiosity, why do you have to write a thesis in Chinese? I see that you're in London. Why on Earth would any Chinese degree program there or anywhere ask you to write a thesis without having given you any training in Chinese academic writing? Quote
