Hi all,

Recognising the vast differences in prices that permeates everything in China, I am nonetheless struggling to find much broad information on the kind of prices for renting commercial property in mainly 2nd tier cities such as Hangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu etc. Something for example the size of a gym, a couple hundred square meters or so, like a small warehouse or something similar.

Does anyone have any ideas at all on the kinds of price ranges per month/day/year on something like this? I know there is exists huge variation but for arguments sake something fairly central and a couple/few hundred meters square.

Thanks very much,

Jin

You can get a very approximate preliminary feel for this from China Real Estate News. Here are links to a couple of their articles about Kunming property prices:

Cost will vary a great deal (it can easily double) depending on how near or far you are to the central business district. You are going to need to be familiar with the layout of the city and then will need to read lots of classified ads (in Chinese.)

Not an easy project without assistance of a native speaker, preferably one who knows the locale and is savvy in business bargaining.
