roddy Posted October 9, 2003 at 09:15 AM Report Posted October 9, 2003 at 09:15 AM What's the most unexpected DVD you've bought in China? I'm constantly amazed by the stuff I find, things I really would never have thought would sell well here. I've found loads of British Ealing comedy's lately, the BBC's The Office, and I'm currently watching The Dambusters. Other notable finds have included a documentary about East European musicals during the Cold War - lots of versions of West Side Story set in a tractor factory - and one DVD which is full of nothing but adverts (which is quite handy, whenever I want to go and make a cup of coffee or a sandwich in the middle of a film, I just put it on to give me the time . . .) Shelley Posted June 15, 2018 at 09:31 AM Report Posted June 15, 2018 at 09:31 AM Well I have come to realise there is no accounting for different nationalities tastes in film and TV. I was amazed but then sort of understanding when I found out the Germans love Mr. Bean (I don't, at all). Benny Hill is very popular too, in Germany and the USA. Quote
